Although both of them use a computer structure, the starting points of the two designs are different, and there are also many differences in industrial control. On the basis of sequence control, PLC adds control algorithms such as PID. The programming adopts the ladder diagram language, which is easy to be learned by electrical technicians. However, some general-purpose software of microcomputers cannot be directly applied on PIC, and need to be developed twice.


2. The difference between PLC control system and single chip control system.


PLC itself is a complex, successful and reliable single-chip microcomputer system. It is a product built on a single-chip microcomputer and a special case of a single-chip microcomputer application system. The selection of the two is not comparable, but is based on different situations. to make a selection.


1) PLC is the main force in the field of industrial control. It can complete various logic control, motion control, simulation and PID control. It is suitable for medium and large equipment in I industry production and fields with high control requirements. Because of its small size and low price, high single-chip microcomputers are suitable for small product automatic control devices and wireless control fields.


2) The anti-interference ability of PLC control system is much stronger than that of general single-chip microcomputer, and PLC is more suitable for control system with high safety factor.


3) The design of the PLC control system is simple, and the manufacturer provides various functional modules, which are easy to combine and use, and the hardware connection is unified. Therefore, the design cycle is short; there are many hardware interface circuits in the microcontroller system, and the applicable external circuits are wider. But the design cycle is long and the reliability is obviously poor.


4) PLC special programming software. The programming is simple and easy to learn, and the program is easy to develop. The single-chip language programming is difficult, but the program can be optimized flexibly, and the software design is complicated.


5) PLC is more suitable for controlling strong current equipment, such as motors, etc.; single-chip microcomputer is more suitable for working in weak current control systems, such as frequency meters, digital voltmeters, etc.


6) PLCs of different manufacturers or models have the same working principle, functions and indicators. The wiring of the external ports is similar and has a certain interchangeability; the application system of the single-chip microcomputer is very different, and it is not convenient to use and maintain.
